Is Your Dream Anothers Nightmare?

The dreams we choose to live are unique to each person. One persons dream of skydiving or hang gliding may be another persons nightmare. How do you feel about singing on Canadian Idol or American Idol? Let's just say, I'll cheer for you as I watch. Now, to continue travelling all over the world is a dream I aspire to. Who has what dream? That is a fun question. Why don't you try asking people what their dream is? Is it your nightmare?

Many, many people inhabit the world and many of us may have the same dream or a similar dream and then many of us may have completely different dreams. Your real dream is the one that really gets you excited and fired up - the thought of fulfilling it has you dancing around the room with excitement. What is that dream? How would it feel to be living it? Live that dream!

Rocky Balboa and Living the Dream

So I reluctantly went with my husband to see Rocky Balboa the other day. What happened? To my surprise I left feeling energized and alive. Why?

It is a great movie of a (dare I say it?) middle aged man feeling a desire - a passion - a need in his gut to pursue something that he had discovered was still important to him. He was told your too old for that particular dream - your crazy - why not just be happy with where you are ...... you know the drill. So what did he do?

He ignored it all and went on to pursue his desire. His achievement is a testament to believing in and living your inner dream - your inner calling. It called out and he listened. Once he wholeheartedly made the decision people everywhere cheered for him. Why?

Because people recognize the strength you need to live that dream and by championing you - they get to feel a little of the power of living a dream themselves.

I say live the dream! Go show em Rocky! How many times do you need to show us??? Maybe this time we got it.

Follow Your Dreams

Welcome. I can think of no better way to start my first posting than with this quote from Henry David Thoreau:

"If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours."

So come on - let's dust off those dreams - shine then up - decide if we still want them - and if the answer is yes because they will bring us immense joy - let's choose to go after them. If you need some help or some cheering, that is what I am here for. Can you just imagine how wonderful it would be to live that dream?
