Appreciating your feet

Yesterday morning we did a kind of walking meditation in our yoga class.
You move very, very slowly and focus on how you put your feet down.

First the ball of your foot goes down and then you roll the rest down. Then we did the heel first. Then we moved sideways. Well you get the idea … anyway, I ended up really noticing my feet ... how they felt, how important they are to my balance and my life.

My walking meditation created the space for me to fully experience and appreciate my feet.
It felt good and somehow important to appreciate my feet.
My feet feel loved. Maybe tomorrow I’ll focus on my hands.

Well appreciating our whole body has to be good for us. Please take the time to appreciate your body today because it feels really good and empowering to do so. Maybe you can start with your feet.

Today's meditation

Pick an object – any object … a knickknack, a flower, a rock.
Now simply focus your gaze on it.
Don’t think about anything else for 3 - 5 minutes.
Breathe – in and out.
Set a timer or just set your inner clock and when you feel you are done, you are done.
That’s it.

Did you feel a little bit of calm, a sense of peace, a quieting of your mind?
That’s it! That is a very good reason to meditate!
Do it whenever you want to center yourself.

Meditation - Is it for you?

For me, meditation is all about having a few moments of stillness.
Maybe it is to take a few moments and find stillness several times throughout the day.
Our mind races with billions of thoughts in every minute.
How can we enjoy our day and this moment if we have a billion thoughts racing around our head? Meditation helps with this.

How would you like to feel just a little more focused?
Stop and meditate for a few moments several times in your day.
Stop and center yourself. That’s meditation.
Clear your mind. That’s meditation.

How well does it work? Well how often can you do it?
We don’t need a special spot to meditate we just need to remember to stop for a few minutes wherever we are, whatever we are doing. Breathe in and breathe out consciously.
You will find yourself feeling more refreshed, energized and focused.

Living our dream is not about entertaining a billion thoughts at one time.
Living our dream is about enjoying each moment in our lives – focusing on the things that are important to us and leaving the rest for someone else to enjoy.
We can experience many of our dreams with a just a little meditation.
Powerful and easy isn’t it?

How would you like to meditate?

How would you like to meditate?

The benefits of meditation are many.

Relaxation … Answers to questions … Feelings of peace … Feelings of connection … Feelings of joy … Aligning with the flow and ease of life …

What are we doing when we meditate? We are quieting our chatter box mind and allowing ourselves to hear our spirit or inner voice that knows all and only wants good things for us.

We don’t all have to meditate in the same way.

Does sitting quietly in one place not appeal to you? What about a walking meditation? Or a jogging meditation? Or an enjoying nature meditation? How about a writing meditation? A dancing meditation? A fishing meditation?

Don’t get stuck with one thought of how things should be done.
Meditate however you like. The benefits are many.
It is the intention and allowing that counts.

Creating quiet us time

This is time alone with yourself time with no outside distractions. If we put ourselves as the last priority on the list are we at our best for anyone?

The story goes that if we take the time to refill our cup we have lots to give others. If our cup is empty because we never take the time to refill it, we have nothing to give. Wouldn’t you like your cup to be full?

Can you give yourself even 15 to 20 minutes of you time a day?

It’s time that you can laze in the tub, go for a walk or close the door to your room and relax. Turn off the music, turn off the TV, and tell any family members around not to disturb you.

Meditate, contemplate your navel, contemplate your toes …. Ask yourself your questions and allow the answers to come. You already know all the answers to all the questions that you could ever ask. The challenge is that usually we are not listening! Often we make ourselves too busy to listen!

It takes awhile to learn how to be comfortable with some quiet time just for you, but before you know it you will really appreciate the difference it makes in your life.

With regular quiet time for ourselves we can not only figure out what our real dreams are but we will be able to clearly receive the guidance to attain them.

So get up early or stay up a little later but find some you time! Start this week. It is my prescription for your mental health! Feel free to let me know what you discover …

Mini Meditations

What is a mini meditation?

That is when we take the time to clear our mind for a few minutes.

Can you believe we need to be reminded to do that?

Clear your mind and think of nothing or clear your mind and focus only on your dream.

A few special meditation minutes in a day can make all the difference in the world as far as how we feel and what we attract.

And we all know that when we feel good –the world flows to us!

Now which of my dreams do I want to meditate on now?
