One step at a time....

The elevator to success is out of order. You'll have to use the stairs ............ one step at a time. ~ Joe Girard

Sometimes when people talk about the hit movie "The Secret" and the "Law of Attraction" they claim something is missing, that you can't possibly just think something into existence! Can you?

Yes, our minds are very powerful and we can sometimes attract just the right people and circumstances that we want to us with our thoughts - that's why they call it the Law of Attraction. We will always attract what we are thinking about and focusing on if we put enough attention on it! Sometimes it will happen almost immediately and sometimes it takes a long while - depending what we are thinking.

However, we can help ourselves reach our desires more easily when we take the actions that we are inspired to take. What are you inspired to do? Make a call, look up some information, go to a certain place, talk to someone, take a course ...........? Do it!

We can help ourselves live our dreams by taking one little inspired step at a time!

Enjoy every moment.....

"Life does not have to be perfect to be wonderful."

~ Annette Funicello

We need to plan for our dreams, as we enjoy all the wonderful moments along the way.
Our life is made up of all our moments.

Let's live our dreams with an appreciation of all the things and circumstances currently in our lives because they will be what helps us achieve our dreams!

Believe it!

Being happy to be?

Sometimes we can get all caught up in the thinking that we think we need to have, do, or be something more. Sometimes, if we stop to think about it, we may find out that we are already living our dream.

Our dream is what we choose for it to be - it is not to be chosen by others - so it is not important what they think - it is only important what we think.

Are you already living your dream? Do you already have something in your life that you need to celebrate?

Would you like to run a Marathon?

This is the current dream of a man I know who has grown grandkids.

His Dream? To run a Marathon October 7th in Victoria, B.C., Canada with one of his daughters. A Marathon is 26 miles and 386 yards! The last time he ran one was 18 years ago.

He just finished running a much smaller race for practice - one he did last year too. He tells us the details:

The race.... GREAT RACE. I did the three things I had set goals for.
1. better my time. ( I did by 2 min. 12 sec.)
2. finish 1st in my age group. ( I did)
3. finish ahead of John & Don. ( I did)
John was my last years competition. Don is in an age group older, and had a better time than me last year. This year I was able to beat him and his age group as well as the age group below me!

My time for 2 miles was 17: 25 . Now here is the really interesting part; last year I drank coffee, energy drinks and had a hot bath with Epsom salts. This year I did none of those things. What I did do was train! ! After the race I went and ran another six miles (slowly). Why another six mile run? Because I'm in training and my training program called for a 6 mile run. A long way on any day! I only think of one step at a time . That I can handle.

He goes on to tell us: Did I mention that my daughter Alta gives me a week of her life every fall (father daughter bonding) last year we did the big game experience! Now this was her idea of how we should start the week this year! Don't you just think kids have the greatest plans? So the goal is to train together, miles apart, and then run across the finish line to gather!?

His advice? Enjoy life's trip, one step at a time!!

Thanks for sharing Clifford! We will be cheering you on (but maybe from the sofa!)

What's your dream? Can you do one thing towards it today? You may surprise yourself with the results.

With great love, Suzanne

The value of Optimism

It is definitely easier to live our dreams if we can be optimistic. Optimism seems to be much easier for some than for others.

Simply put, optimism is the tendency to take the most hopeful view of matters. To be optimistic means we actually believe something could be possible; that something good could happen. It means we are believing that our life truly could be as fantastic as we want it to be.

Really, why not? Think about a dream or something you want. Would you admit to it being a little bit possible? A little bit of belief is all that it takes to start the ball rolling in the right direction. You can even help yourself by looking for proof - maybe that it has happened for others? Start small and let the proof build and then . . . . . . WHAM! You may just get your dream.

I am always optimistic! Are you?

Live Life!

"Life is a great big canvas, and you should throw all the paint on it you can."

~ Danny Kaye quote

What should we do with our life?

My suggestion would be to:

Live it, enjoy it, play with it, savor it, dance in it, and experience it all!

Why else are we living it? Well, that's my opinion.

Let go of the "How"

If we have a dream; but we don't know how in the world it can ever happen for us ~ should we give up on it, forget it, and deem it a waste of our time? No way! Let me tell you why . . . . . . .

As Esther Hicks, Jerry Hicks and Abraham point out ~ it is not our job to know the "How." Our job is:

to think of the dream in the first place . . . .
to picture the dream in as much detail as we can . . . . .
to write about our dream if we choose to - in any way we choose to . . . .
and to feel how it would feel to achieve this dream.
We need to do any and all of the above as often as we can and then . . . . .
Then the "How" will come to us - often as inspiration or a hunch. Listen for those guides.

Does that mean we do nothing in the mean time? Who can afford to do that?

This is what we do:

We go on about our days doing what needs to be done, maybe even working the current job we have . . . . . . maybe we start reading empowering books, watching more empowering shows, researching about what we are dreaming of, even working with a life coach. We keep doing the small, inspired steps that are not hard to do at all - and before you know it the "How" will become clear. Funny we never saw it before.

The "How " is not our job. Our job is to plan for and make room for that dream to be a part of our life. Try it ~ it's really fun!

Let enthusiasm light up your life

Your enthusiasm brings ideas, creativity, hope and empowerment to any group or idea.

Your enthusiasm will attract more enthusiasm and before you know it; you have a party!

Fill yourself with enthusiasm for a project, an idea or your life and fears have no room to show up.

Let your enthusiasm breathe life into you and your dreams! Go ahead and show it and watch others catch it and light up.

Enthusiasm - just another little secret to living your dreams.

We make our choices every day

Every day we make choices about our lives.

Every day we can choose to be happy - to live in joy - to look for the good in others - to be kind and compassionate - to live looking for the beauty in all around us - to be calm - to enjoy all our moments - to live with love and forgiveness - to look for the positive - to live our dreams.

The choices we make today will determine our today and to a certain extent our tomorrow - but tomorrow is always up for grabs by the choices we make on that day. The Law of Attraction states that we attract to us more of what we are focused on. What are you attracting today?

What choices will you make today?

No comparing

These are words I have learned to live my life by:

No Comparing - No Competing - No Labelling - No Judging

Does it matter what others are doing or how they are living?

Live your dreams for your reasons - because you choose to.

Find happiness now for an even better future

No matter where we currently stand, we all have goals, aspirations and more things that we want from life. That is and always be a part of our human existence. It is always OK to choose to have more in our life - we deserve lots of good stuff.

So what is a good way to achieve all these goals, dreams and wants that we have?

My suggestion is to start by giving thanks and appreciation for exactly where we are now in our life because it is setting us up perfectly for the future we want. No matter where we currently stand, if we can find a way to be happy with where we are now, we can attract and create our chosen future with much more ease.

Even on those days when we feel like we are standing in a pit full of mud; we need to realize that for whatever reason we needed to be in this pit full of mud because it will help us to create the future we do want. It will also make a really great story to tell when we are living our dreams!

Let's find our happiness in our now and enjoy it as we anticipate our happiness and joy yet to come! Wow - what a great life!

With great love, Suzanne

It's time to come alive

"Don't ask what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. Then go and do that - because what the world needs are people who come alive."

~ Harold Whitman

When we are doing something we love, something we are passionate about - not only do we come alive, but the world seems to come alive around us. Everything is easier and everyone is happier.

When we feel like that - everything else we need will fall into place. The people, the opportunities and the money. Wait, that is the Law of Attraction again isn't it?

Give yourself permission to come alive and live your dreams and watch the world around you awaken.

With great love, Suzanne

Try responding instead of reacting

Whenever something happens in our life, we can choose to react or respond to it.

A reaction is usually our first gut instinct- without thought. Someone hits you - you hit back. Someone is mean to you - you are mean back. When a doctor tells you have had a reaction to something - it is usually a bad sign - you have a rash or something like that.....

Responding is more of a choice. You can stop, think about, and choose your response to any situation. Which method do think will be more empowering to you and others?

Of course some things will happen and you need not respond or react to them - you just let them slide by you - almost unnoticed ......

Live in your power and live all those dreams!

You attitude effects your dream

Stuff is happening to us and all around us every day......... it's traffic, or friends, or our kids, or our boss, or lineups, or phone calls, or requests, or the news ........ and tons of other influences.

We don't live alone and we don't live in a bubble; so we can be effected by all the stuff going on around us. This is where "attitude" comes into play, as we can choose how we respond to each event coming at us or going on around us.

Our attitude is precious and I could say I guard mine with my life - because it is my life.

How about this picture: We wake up and the world seems perfect to us - we know what we want to do today and we feel very in control - all is well. Great start!

Now what happens to your mood when you are greeted by one or more of the following?

- Maybe we walk into the kitchen and are greeted by a cranky spouse or child. Plus a mess in the kitchen. Can you side step it and not it effect you?

- Someone calls you and tells you that you need to do something for them today. Can you side step it and not let it effect you?

- You go out and traffic is horrendous or someone cuts you off. Can you side step it and not let it effect you?

- You go for a coffee or an errand and there is no parking or the line up is extremely long. Can you side step it and not let it effect you?

- Your co workers or the boss is cranky today.

Can you side step them all and not let it effect your good mood? Can you possibly find something good in the things that are happening to you and around you? Why should we give others the power to change our good mood? Our attitude not only effects our life - it is our life.

Live your dreams with Attitude! It is an amazing life isn't it?

With great love, Suzanne

What is your heart song?

I just watched the kids movie "Happy Feet" this past weekend. It is amazing what you can learn from kids movies.

It is the story of a little penguin who can't sing (singing is very important to this species of penguin because they find their happiness and future mates through song). He can't sing, but he can dance - and oh how he loves to dance! He is good at it and it speaks to his soul! Nobody understands until ........... they discover that maybe everyones "Heart Song" can be uniquely expressed and ..........dancing can be fun.

What do you enjoy with a passion? That might be your "Heart Song"! Don't hide it! Let it out and live it for true happiness in your life! You never know who may decide to join in.

Ha Ha! Just a little advice from a penguin.

With great love, Suzanne
